The Believer's Strength
Christ, the Power of God, is the believer's strength. Jesus of Galilee is the power of God, because all power and heaven and earth is in his hand; His self resurrection from the dead, proclaimed his eternal power; Men and angels fall down and worship him. Power means, to be or have firm; vigor, force, capacity, means, produce, ability, able, fruits, might, power (-ful), strength, substance, wealth. Resist fulness, by implication valor, victory, mastery, might, mighty, strength. strength in various applications (force, security, majesty, praise): - boldness, loud, might, power, strength, strong; to dominate, that is, govern; by implication to permit: - (bear, have) rule, have dominion, give (have) power. the sign of regal authority, a crown.
The power of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was his undefiled life. Being a man without sin, made him able to swallow up death in victory. There was no guile or sin in him, and as result, the prophecy had to be fulfilled: “Thou will not leave my soul in hell; nor will you suffer your holy one to see corruption”. Sanctification of spirit, was the basis of the resurrection of Christ out of death. The grave could not hold his sinless nature down. He was without blemish and there was no guile in his mouth. The spotlessness of his life served him well in the day and hour of his resurrection. Christ, has the power of an endless life. His affection and love for righteousness and his perfect hatred for wickedness commanded his resurrection out of death on the third.
Christ, was declared to be the son of God with power by his resurrection from the dead. Righteousness, raised him from the dead. Sanctification and holiness is power. Righteousness and godliness is power: it is the power of God. This promise was made: “I will make your soul an offering for sin. You will be accursed, and suffer a humiliating death, I will not leave your soul in hell, nor will your body see corruption”. Christ, manifested his power in the resurrection and in his deliverance of Zion from her iniquities. Saving Zion out of sin and keeping Zion from sin is the remarkable display of the power of God. Deliverance from sin and the power of God are synonymous terms. Power to witness is based upon the power derived from the righteousness of God. Sanctification is the power of an endless life
The prophecy in Exodus, says: “I have raised thee up, for to show in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth”; and that God’s right hand, is glorious in power. Deliverance from sin death and destruction is always associated with God’s great power and his mighty hand. In passing, it is important to note that the terminology “at the right hand of God” is indicative of his mighty power and is not a location. When the scripture says that Jesus seats at God’s right hand. It does not mean that Jesus is situated in a position located beside the deity; as some falsely assume. “At the right hand of God” is a figure of speech, meaning: “Jesus is the eternal power of the Godhead; that he is one in whom resides all the power of God. God choose the seed (Christ) to produce by force the deliverance of his own soul from death, and the subsequent deliverance of Zion from sin and it’s consequences. The power, force, ability, capacity or the means whereby which Christ was able to do this is inherent in his divine nature of holiness. The speech of God is under girded with holiness. That which girdles God is holiness. Isaiah says: “ righteousness is girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. John says, that, Christ was: “ girt about the lions with a golden girdle”. Thus, God has the ability to come into the world, give his life on the cross; and after three days raise his soul out of death. He has the ability to deliver and keep from sin. He removes the nature and impulse to sin. Of course, one has to repent and believe that Christ can and desires to do this; and that the destruction of sin, in believers, is the purpose of his priesthood, (Exo 9:16; 15:6; 32:11; Deu 4:37 Isaiah 11:5).
The Lord, brought Israel out of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, so that they could worship and do sacrifice unto God. Israel worshiped and did sacrifice unto the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty of the Lord. For Israel realized, that all that is in the heaven and in the earth belonged to God; and that his is the kingdom; and that he is to exalted as head above all. Israel realized that in the hand of God there is power and might; and that none is able to withstand Him. He divides the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smites through the proud and who can understand the thunder of his power. God is exalted by his power and none teaches like him. Except he teaches us, we cannot find him out; for he is excellent in power, judgment, and justice. We sing and praise his power, because, He is exalted in his own strength. He delivers our soul, because he first delivered his own soul from the sword; and his desire from the power of the dog. For God redeems souls from the power of the grave. (Job 26:12, 14; 37:23; 36:22; 1Ch 29:11; 2Ch 20:6; 2Ki 17:36; Ezr 4:23;Psa 21:13; 22:20; 37:35; 49:15; 59:11).
It is because, of the power of God, that we sing aloud of his mercy; for he is our defense and refuge in the day of trouble. God has said, that power belongs to him; the power and glory, that we see in him in his sanctuary. The mountains stand fast by his strength, because they are girded with his power. God, is terrible in his operations. Through the greatness of his power all his enemies submit themselves unto him. In his power God, rules for ever. This God, is he, that giveth strength and power unto Zion. God according to the greatness of thy power preserves, prisoners that are sighing, and those appointed to death. We praise God, because the beauty of holiness came from the womb. Blessed be, Jesus Christ, the son of God; for he is the power of God. (Psa 59:16; 62:11; 63:2; 65:6; 66:3, 7; 68:35; 79:11; Act 3:12).
The daughters of Judah, speak of the glory of his kingdom, and talk of his power. They say: “the Lord Jesus Christ, the son of the living God has, great power and his understanding is infinite. The daughters of Judah, say: “Praise the Lord Jesus Christ; Praise God in his sanctuary; Praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ; Praise him in the firmament of his power, because when you consider all the oppressions that is done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and that they have no comforter; Zion, must praise and proclaim the power of Christ, the Son of God; He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength. Christ, the Son of God, made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. The Son of God, made the heaven and the earth by his great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for him. Christ, the Son of God, established the world by his wisdom, and stretched out the heaven by his understanding.
Christ, the Son of God, ransoms from the power of the grave; and redeems from death. He is the plagues to death, and destruction to the grave. It is the power of God that declares judgment against and deliverance from sin. For the is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet. Jesus, the Son of God, had the power to lay his life down, and the power to take it up again. Jesus, though his own power and holiness was able to raise himself up again, after having been dead for three days and three nights. The resurrection of Jesus Christ, was due to the power of his holiness. (Ecc 4:1; Psa 145:11; 147:5; 150:1; Isa 40:29; Jer 10:12; 32:17; Jer 51:15; Hos 13:14; Mic 3:8; Nah 1:3; Joh 10:18).
The Son of God’s brightness is as the light and the horns coming out of his hand is the hiding of his power; for it is not by might, nor by power; but by his spirit . (Hab 3:4; Zec 4:6) The spirit of the Lord, delivers us from evil. The spirit of the Lord is power to forgive sins. Jesus answered and said: “ I am the power of God”. Jesus said: “Hereafter shall you see the Son of man sit with power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Jesus said: “ All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth”. The speech of Christ, is the power of God. Jesus, the Son of God, has power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases; he has power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. The Holy Ghost is the power of God. The son of God is the power of God. Jesus Christ is the Holy Ghost. Christ has power to kill the soul by casting it into hell; for he is the power of God. (Mat 6:13; 9:6; 22:29; 26:64; 28:18; Luke 1:35; 4:32; 9:1; 20:20; 22:69; Act 4:33).
A many as receive him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, opens the eyes of the soul, and turn from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, by the forgiveness of sins. He gives an inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith in his name. This, Jesus, is by the power of the spirit of holiness, arose from the dead. This Jesus, is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes. This, Jesus, is the God of hope, that fills with all believing joy and peace, through the power of the Holy Ghost. This, Jesus Jesus, the Son of the Living God, by his power is able to establish you according to the apostolic, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began. The preaching of the cross is the power of God. The preaching of the cross is the power of God, and the wisdom of God. (Joh 1:12; Act 26:18; Rom 1:4, 16; 15:13; 16:25; 1Co 1:18, 24).
God has raised up the Lord Jesus, and will also raise up us by his power. We, as was he is sown in dishonor; but raised in glory. We are and was he, sown in weakness, but raised in power: We have this treasure in earthen vessels; the excellency of the power is of God, and not of us. The Son of God, was crucified through weakness; yet he lives by the power of God. We also are weak in him, but we also live with him by the power of God. The exceeding greatness and mighty working of his power to us-ward who believe. The same power that raised Christ far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come, (1Co 6:14; 15:43; 2Co 4:7; 13:4; Eph 1:19, 21).
In time past, we walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air. In time past, we walked according to the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience . However, now we walk according to the power of him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think. We walk now, according to his power that works in us. We walk and know him according to the power of his resurrection. We know him through the fellowship of his sufferings, because we are made conformable unto his death. The power of his resurrection; the fellowship of his sufferings; the conformability unto his death: his glorious power, strengthens us with all might in patience and longsuffering with joyfulness . Christ, the Son of the Living God, has delivered us from the power of darkness. He has translated us into his kingdom. In him we are complete. We are complete in him, who is the head of all principality and power. (Eph 2:2; 3:20; Phi 3:10).
We are complete in him who is the brightness of the glory of God; who is the express image of his person; and who upholds all things by the word of his power. We are complete in him, who has purged our sins, and who is now sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. We are perfected in him who was partakers of flesh and blood. We are perfected in him who through death, destroyed, the power of death. We are perfected in him who is made, after the power of an endless life. Through him, we are kept by the power of God by faith. Through him, we have all things that pertain unto life and godliness. Through him we are called us to glory and virtue. Through him we are victorious for we hold fast to him unto the end. (Col 1:11, 13; 2:10; 1Th 1:5; 2Th 1:9; Heb 1:3; 2:14; 7:16; 1Pe 1:5; 2Pe 1:3, 16; Jud 1:25; Rev 2:26).
The Son of God is the only wise God our Saviour. To him be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. The Son of God, is worthy, to receive glory, honor and power: for he has created all things, and for his pleasure. The Son of the Living God, is worthy to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing, because he is the Lamb that was slain. He is worthy to receive honor from every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea. Christ, is worthy, to receive blessing, honor, glory, and power: because he sits upon the throne for ever and ever. Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God, the Son of the Living God, for he alone is our Lord God Almighty, which is and was, and is to come. Christ Jesus, the Son of God, has taken to himself all the greatness of power, and He reigns. (Rev 4:11; 5:12, 13; 7:12; 11:17).
The Apostle's doctrine publishes that the phrase: Son of God means, the literal setting forth Christ as the judge of the living and the dead; Son of God means, Christ is God in human Flesh, he is the full, complete and only image of the divine nature.
